Using Credit Reports in Bankruptcy
Do you know what your credit score is? Perhaps you have checked and double-checked and you know exactly what it is. Perhaps you have ignored it, afraid of what you might see. There is one important fact to keep in mind: it’s just a number.
What does your credit score truly mean to you? Do you want a good credit score so you can get a home mortgage in the future? Do you want to make sure you get good rates on a car loan? If you are so overwhelmed by debt that you feel as if you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, it is important that you have answers to these questions and you know what your credit score is. At Rothschild & Ausbrooks, PLLC, our lawyers will take the time to provide you guidance and help you answer these questions. Then we will help you find a solution to your debt problem. That solution is often bankruptcy.
Free Credit Report
You are entitled to a free credit file disclosure, also referred to as a credit report. There are three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. You can get one report from each of these companies every 12 months. In other words, you can get up to three free credit reports per year. You can pay for additional credit reports.
Our attorneys have more than three decades of experience helping people just like you in Goodlettsville and throughout Tennessee. We will help you obtain your credit report. We will review it with you, looking for any issues. We will educate you about bankruptcy and how it is the first step to rebuilding your credit, if your credit has been damaged by overwhelming debt.
