You Can Rely On Our Experienced Team To Guide You Confidently Through The Bankruptcy Process.

What Is a Chapter 13 Confirmation Hearing?

Chapter 13 bankruptcy involves a debt repayment plan that is based on your income and your debt. This plan must be approved by the court at a confirmation hearing. At Rothschild & Ausbrooks, PLLC, our attorneys have more than three decades of experience helping people just like you in Goodlettsville and throughout Tennessee. We understand how to create reasonable repayment plans that make sense for you and will be approved by the court. We will stand by your side through the confirmation hearing and through the entire process, until you have overcome your debt and begun your new debt-free life.

A Debt Repayment Plan That Makes Sense for You

Your income can only be stretched so far. We understand that. When assisting you with the creation of a debt repayment plan, we first look at your income and subtract the money you need to put food on the table and cover the basic costs of living. Our lawyers will then look at what is left over, and that is what we will use to create the repayment plan.

You will only need to make one monthly payment as part of your repayment plan. That payment will go to the bankruptcy trustee, who will then divide it up and provide it to your creditors as appropriate. Some creditors may be paid in full. Some may receive a portion of what they are owed. Some may receive little or nothing. The repayment plan will last three to five years, after which any remaining unsecured debt will be eliminated.

The Confirmation Hearing

Many people think that they will be on trial at the confirmation hearing. That is not the case. Questions will be asked and creditors may raise objections, but you are not on trial. We will prepare you for the hearing, striving to make it as stress-free as possible. We will be by your side at the hearing, helping you through it.
